PICT Workshop - Mons, Belgium

The embedding of the PICT principles in curricula across the European Union continues. Three PICT representatives were invited to deliver a full-day workshop at the University of Mons, Belgium. Here they had the opportunity to meet lecturers and graduates from the departments of Culture and Linguistic Mediation, and Specialized Translation and Terminology to discuss the role of the PICT curriculum framework and materials in the context of the latest pedagogical developments in translation. The theoretical framework was presented by Professor Kaisa Koskinen (University of Eastern Finland) while Dr Robin Cranmer and Dr Daniel Tomozeiu (both University of Westminster) ran hands-on workshops with the staff and students using the PICT teaching and assessment materials. Given the multilingual dimension of PICT, the day was conducted in both English and French.
